Sedco Square is one of those places where a number of seafood restaurants flock together to offer choicest fresh seafood to customers. J-Boy and I browsed through a few shops and finally settled at Sri Mutiara. Between the two of us, ordering a lot of food will be an issue, so we tried to settle with smaller portion and in the case, a smaller garoupa.
We chose all our seafood fresh and alive from the tank: We had fish, prawn, live oysters, fresh abalone and lobster. There are many different ways of cooking, and other than the cheese baked lobster, we opted for the simplest way of cooking - steamed fish, boiled prawns and broiled abalone to savour the bounty of the sea. This is the first time we had fresh abalone, and it is very different from the canned abalone. The fresh abalone was so fresh, it tasted like the sea.
The coconut dessert is a must have! Between the two of us, we had a very, very filling dinner. Satisfying enough for us to leave Kota Kinabalu with good food memories.
