Deli Tomyam Thai Food Restaurant @ Summit USJ

Sometime ago we noticed Deli Tomyam Thai food restaurant setting up in Summit USJ. Having just came back from Bangkok and totally missing the papaya salad (som tam) , we walked in, ordered a serving, and got hooked. Ever since then we have been dropping by for our som tam fix quite regularly, and in the process, sampled other dishes as well.

This place serves a variety of popular Thai dishes that comes with an affordable price tag, with most dishes priced under RM10.00, except for fish dishes. Taste-wise most dishes I've tried were pretty decent.

The sweetened lemongrass tea and and pandan tea lends a touch of authenticity to our meal.

For starters we usually had the papaya salad...

...and deep fried spring rolls, which assaulted our taste bud with a pungent tang of fish sauce, in a good way.

Tom yam prawns hit the right notes: not too spicy, flavourful with the right hint of spices.

The kaffir lime leaves fried chicken was fragrant and flavourful: one of my favourite dishes.

The pandan leaf wrapped chicken was a mixture of loosely packed chicken in spices wrapped in triangles. The aromatic pandan leaves serves well in this savoury dish.

A simple kailan stirfry.

Prawn omelette.

Dipping sauce of sweet and sour chilies and sambal went wonderfully with white rice.

For dessert we couldn't resist trying out the mango sticky rice. While the signature fragrant Thai sticky rice grain is lacking, the sticky rice drenched in thick coconut milk and served with sliced mango was still enjoyable.
