Ayam penyet is one of our favourite Indonesian food. Thanks to the many outlets of Ayam Penyet Ria serving ayam penyet in major shopping malls, we just drop in when we feel like having some good old smashed fried chicken served with raw vegetables and kick ass spicy chili paste or sambal.
They are also available in set consisting of a soup, white rice and crackers, or keropok.
Aside from the usual smashed fried chicken, there are also smashed fried catfish, smashed fried shrimps, smashed fried beef, and smashed fried beef ribs. Pictured above is terong goreng and assorted vegetables with fried tofu and tempeh, served ayam penyet style.
Ayam penyet. The sambal is the heart of the dish.
Telur penyet. Other Indonesian specialties such as gado gado, bakso, soto ayam and teh botol Sorso are also in the menu.

i don't like fried chicken that much, but these are moist and juicy inside, very nice
ReplyDeleteyup, i like that eventhough it is fried the chicken retains the juiciness.
