Seri Kembangan is a whole new, unexplored area for us. So, Ken and Kath suggest to go for a buffet session in that area, we jumped ahead and tried to find this place before the buffet spread finishes. Lucky for us, the place was easy to find and there's still plenty of food for us.
Anyway, this place is not exactly a shoplot per se, but a zinc and metal tent-like steamboat place, which understandably has no air con and very much open air. Price per pax comes to around RM26.00, a reasonable, no frills price.
With so much cooking going on, the open air restaurant is an added advantage. They have both soup and hotplate for frying which is a good thing because we can grill our own chicken wings and fish. They even provide banana leaves! As for the soup, they have the option of either clear or tom yam soup. We chose to have both, and noted that the clear soup has herbs in it. It also didn't cause much thirst hours after we finished, so I supposed they don't put that much MSG in the soups.
The cooked food selection comprises of the normal fried rice, fried noodles, curry chicken and the likes, as well as this unconventional but tasty duck cooked in ginger and gravy.
The varieties offered was very extensive. All sorts of fresh and marinated seafoods, chicken, pork and lambs slices, vegetables, a medley of processed food such as beancurd skins, fish balls, meatball and other interesting processed foodstuffs are available.
The mother of all cockles and her kids. Seriously, I have never seen such a big cockle before. I didn't eat it though. They said it tasted very bloody.

Margerine for frying. Didn't use much, as the banana leaves prevent food from sticking to the hotplate.

Overall, the food was quite fresh and refills pretty fast, despite the crowd. It is advisable to call and make reservations as the place will be full come dinner time. Walk ins will be disappointed, so just give them a call beforehand.
