Today's post will feature another style of bak kut teh, which is suprisingly light in colour and contains no other ingredients in it, except for the choice of pork. This particular style of cooking is commonly referred to as 养生 "yang sheng" bak kut teh, which literally translates it into a recuperation dish.
It is not hard to see why, as the dense nutrition of the meat and herbs are good for recuperating frail health. The soup and meat is double boiled in a claypot.

Another shot of my favourite choice of pork. Hong Bee opens after 4.00pm, and caters for the dinner crowd. The place is always full, so be prepared to wait for an hour, or alternatively, call in advance to order.
