KTZ @ SS2

Peanut paste or 花生糊 hua sheng hu in Mandarin
SquareCookie was around SS2 area and suggested a meetup for Chinese Dessert 糖水 (tongsui) in KTZ SS2. Not one to miss out a good chance to eat, we went. There were only 3 of us, right after dinner, but we went for an order frenzy nonetheless. We ordered two thick, pasty warm dessert, the peanut paste 花生糊 hua sheng hu and black sesame paste 芝麻糊 zhi ma huwater chestnut 马蹄 ma ti and creamy wheat 麦粥 mai zhou.

Water chestnut with riceballs.
Water chestnut 马蹄 tongsui with a glutinous rice ball, or 汤圆 tang yuan. This water chestnut tongsui came with 2 glutinous rice balls after I forgot to order the balls for SquareCookie and was shown sad face ala sad crab ( refer to crab photo at the bottom).

White, creamy wheat 麦粥 mai zhou

Deep fried Stuffed Crab.
Sad crab is sad. Just like SquareCookie without glutinous rice balls.

Sweet pastry.
Something to munch on. This sweet pastry, called wo peng was thin and crispy.

My vivid memory of KTZ desserts was during childhood when AuntieSyl tricked me into eating frog ovaries soup. Being young and naive, I was happily slurping it, until one day someone enlightened me. Right now, I can't even find any frog soup ovaries to eat. Er, I mean frog ovaries soup. Nevermind.

I've been having KTZ dessert ever since their days in Kepong, and they are comforting. Wouldn't mind going back to the SS2 branch every now and then for the tongsui.
