Korean food is one of my favourite comfort food. I have yet to fine a to-go Korean restaurant after relocating to USJ, so we started with a visit to Han Woo Ri, USJ Taipan.
Their side dishes or banchan, is on the dainty side, but they automatically refilled it when we finished a particular banchan.
Since there's only three of us, I ordered the standard Korean pork belly slice and marinated pork BBQ...
and a dolsot bibimbap.

i enjoyed ur blog!! really nice suggestions :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by!
ReplyDeletehaving tried out a few korean restaurants around subang/usj/sunway, my favourite is still Daorae @ Taipan (just behind True Fitness). Good service, and the boss is always out chatting and serving the customers, and giving out complimentary dishes.
ReplyDeletecheck it out!
I've tried Daorae @ Taipan, and I agree that the boss was friendly and service was good. My only gripe is that the place was always jam packed and our food came really slow. I will most likely return when its not peak hours.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestion! :)
I agreed with lydia that Daorae service is good and not only that the food is also good . I think that is why they are always pack. I did went to Han Woo Ri but is not as pack as Daorae and some time is empty. But above all, the service at Han Woo Ri Is bad.
ReplyDeletei agree with daphne. Ive had food from both restaurants and firstly the service at daore is good coz of the boss there serving with complimentaries but hanwoori one point service could be bad but i think thats coz of weekends or some new workers are still training. haha but when i went there they still tried and gave much attention and services werent so bad, and moreover i think the TASTE of the food hanwoori is better and one more thing ventilation is good. so i think as theres a gloomy day and a bright day i think its not bad to give a chance too. Try ampang hanwoori foods awesome!
ReplyDeletei've been to daorae @ taipan once, but the experience wasn't so good. the place was full and the food came very slow. han woo ri is a better place to hangout because the place is most of the time empty (peaceful and quiet).
ReplyDeletewhat does it mean by complimentary dishes, lydia? a little hard to find free food nowadays haha
[...] there are dissatisfied customers complaining about their service in one of the old blog post about Han Woo Ri, but I feel quite contrary. One man’s meat is another man’s poison, perhaps? Or one [...]
ReplyDeleteWell what can i say about Daorae is that of coz that shop is packed because the boss practices black magic to lure tons of customer. I was once an early bird at Taipan and was strolling around Daorae area and I say the boss of Daorae spreading something around the walkway of his entrance. So out of curiosity I ask one of his foreign staff what in tarnation was his boss doing? He said jumpy...huh jumpy...for who??? He said customers and he get all his jumpy from the graveyard...oh dang...I tot you'll only see this happening around this region but I guess we have Koreans practicing black magic.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprise if he had tried to put something on his competitor just to get all the sales. Normally this kind of people will try to eliminate competition. So guys think again is that what you really want???
OMG! Really? That is really cunning of them. But at the end of the day, jumpy or not, when customers prefer to return again and again, its really their choice. Nothing much can be done about that.
ReplyDeleteDaorae's service is good, however like everyone mentioned, the place is jammed pack. I have brought my Korean in laws to both Daorae and Hanwoori, all of them mentioned Hanwoori food is more authentic and Korean-like.
