Freshly baked nyonya pineapple tarts area famous delicacy in Malacca. Not less than five vendors sell them freshly baked along Jonker Walk, and countless more tart shops throughout all over the state all sell these delicious tarts. Most places offer free samples to taste, before buying, so take advantage of that to find the ones that you like.
In terms of size this shop located at the beginning of Jonker Walk was really eye catching. Displayed proudly in front of the shop is the biggest pineapple tart in Malaysia's Book of Records. I purposely included a fifty cents coin as a comparison.
The normal, edible size of nyonya pineapple tarts sold in the shop, with the same fifty cents coin. Gimmicks aside, LW Nyonya Pineapple Tarts House's tarts is worth their salt. The melt in mouth pastry with a strong hint of butter, topped with pineapple jams which is not too sweet nor sour is simply delightful.
These pineapple tarts are also available in rolled pastry in either traditional buttery pastry, or pandan flavoured pastry. One container containing a dozen tarts retails for RM6.50 (at the time of writing).
